I was in the midst of writing an entry about my LLB life [some sort of tribute, which actually started on Sunday, 3 days ago, but still not yet finished] when I suddenly realized that Eid al-Adha is coming and it’s better if I postpone that entry and write an entry about the Eid.
As you know, Eid al-Adha is one of the festive days for Muslims where it is celebrated to commemorate and to remember the act of Prophet Ibrahim who willingly sacrifice his son Prophet Ismail under Allah’s command before Allah replaced Prophet Ismail with an animal. That’s why Muslims who are able can do their part by sacrificing animals such as cows or sheep to be given to the poor and other deserving Muslims. The keyword for this festivity: Sacrifice. Apart from that, Eid al-Adha is also celebrated in conjunction with the Hajj.
Me, I just got home yesterday morning [Tuesday morning]. Then, I helped my mom to prepare the foods that we are going to eat for Eid: the ketupat, rendang kerang, rendang daging, as well as ayam masak merah. I had a hard time to prepare the ketupat. Although we bought ready-made ketupat sarongs, it was hard for me to determine the amount of rice that needs to be put inside it and it was confusing to tie the end of the ketupat leaves. But in the end, I made it… after my dad fiercely taught me how to ;)
My dad also brought me to the barber shop to get a new haircut. The barber was such a perfectionist that it took him around 40 minutes just to cut my already-short hair. I was the last person to leave the premise and a man who came later than me, left earlier than me :D
Ok… enough of me merapu. I just wanna wish u all Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha… Salam Eid al-Adha. And gosh I miss my friends!
p/s: Akmal bro, kau nak aku siapkan tak harimau kau? hehehe
