Thanks, Liz. When I read your post, tears well up in my eyes. Traveling is my passion and dream. And although I am already 44 years old. My dream is in no hurry to come true. But, I do not lose hope. I love surfing the Internet and reading such sites.

I really appreciate your efforts to let others know how you felt. I have been dealing with such fears regarding the things I dreamt of and could not fulfil. Those dreams used to haunt me on those days. However, I now try to convince myself that what is going to happen is what you can’t change. still, I should give it a try and I know this is the biggest way to overcome any fear. Despite all the odds and fears all you need to do is give it a try.

Great article about coping with fear while traveling. Everyone is scared of something in their lives, and in order to cope with my own fears, I would ‘travel’ and do things outside of my comfort zone. While it seemed scary or nerve racking at times, it was absolutely worth it!

You’re on your way! It’s good to be a little scared (like when thinking of traveling to a scary country like Iran) but you’re learning when to be scared and when to relax which is pretty cool. We all just need the right mixture that leads to never making mistakes yet allowing us to have fun!

Thank you for this post & many others!!
I have been exploring your blog because I want to go to Asturias! Interesting, we are somewhat reversed in our fears – I have conquered the fear of the physical (or at least as much as I want to for now ;-)) – I can attest to the power of group fitness & group hikes to help move you forward! I now know (with proper training) I can climb / hike my way anywhere I want to go because I have gone much farther than I ever imagined I would. My fear, however, is the one you have conquered or I guess never had, traveling alone and especially hiking alone. I was wondering how you felt on those mountain roads and trails alone in Spain? I would love any tips / feedback you can offer on Asturias in particular because that is where I want to go. Btw I lived in Spain & speak the language, so that is helpful. Thank you!!
